WMKK - 93.7 Mike FM
(Station changed formats on September 9, 2011)

Rhythmic CHR (Contemporary Hit Radio) Star 93.7 (WQSX) flipped formats to Variety Hits on April 14, 2005. The new name chosen by station owner Entercom was 93-7 Mike FM, using the positioning statememtn of "We play everything."

That's not entirely true, but they did push the variety angle hard on the station's website. "Mike plays EVERYTHING... from Donna Summer to the Doobies, Abba to Aerosmith, Journey to Janet, Beatles to Bananarama." The Beatles tend to fall outside the time genre that most Variety Hits stations target, but then again The Beatles are a very special band that have an appeal that in unique from all other bands from the 1960s.

The station replaced its old call letters with WMKK (to closer fit its Mike FM identity) on April 21, 2005.

CBS Radio brought FM Sports to the Boston market when it flipped Hot AC Mix 98.5 to sports-talk as 98.5 the Hub in August 2009. Entercom ultimately decided to do the same, dropping the Variety Hits format on 93.7 Mike FM in favor of a simulcast of sports-talk 850 WEEI on September 9, 2011 and then changing the station's call letters to WEEI-FM on September 21, 2011.
