WGTZ - Fly 92.9
Before becoming a Variety Hits station, 92.9 WGTZ served Dayton as a legacy CHR station as Z-93. But in September 2007, Main Line Broadcasting purchased the station (and the rest of the Dayton cluster) from previous owner Radio One and made a change.
Z-93 was going head-to-head with Clear Channel's CHR in the market, Channel 94.5 (WDKF), and Main Line decided to tap into the uncharted world of Variety Hits on in the market. After a few days of stunting, the station debuted as Fly 92.9 at noon on Friday, November 2, 2007. This was the second station that Main Line flipped to the format; in Richmond, VA, Main Line put the format on as Liberty 98.9.
