Las Vegas, NV

KKJJ - 100.5 Jack FM

Infinity (now CBS Radio) AC Lite 100.5 (KMZQ-FM) began stunting with Christmas music on June 24, 2005 at 2 PM PDT. The final song before the flip was, appropriately enough, "Leaving Las Vegas" by Sheryl Crow. According to All Access, 45 minutes later the station segued into movie theme songs before announcing that the station had been gambled away by "a guy named Joel" (Hollander, perhaps?) to a "guy named Jack" during a Texas Hold 'Em poker game at the MGM Grand. A voice asked Jack what he would do with the station; Jack responded that he would "Play Anything We Want."

The station then debuted with Variety Hits as 100.5 Jack FM. The first song under the new format was "No Such Thing" by John Mayer.

The station changed its call letters to KKJJ on July 6, 2005.

Craig Powers, who had been PD/MD at Lite 100.5, stayed on board as the PD for 100.5 Jack FM. Powers exited the station on February 7, 2008 as part of widespread cuts instituted by CBS Radio.
