Edge Radio 1575
According to this article on stripes.com, the American Forces Network (AFN) put a Variety Hits format to the 600 watt station that broadcasts on 1575 AM from the Misawa Air Base in Japan in late 2006.
The move was masterminded by Master Sgt. Mike Burnette, the section chief of detachment operations, who joined AFN Misawa in October 2006.
According to a Japanese Wikipedia translation, this is the listing information for the station:
AFN Misawa (12th reporting casual detachment): Aomori prefecture: Misawa base AM 1575kHz 600W
According to the network's website, "AFN Misawa is owned and operated by the Air Force Broadcasting Service, a directorate of the Air Force News Agency at Lackland AFB, Texas."
There is some evidence that the 1575 signal also airs on 88.3 FM, but the details on this are unclear. At any rate, the station is branded Edge Radio 1575.
