Thanks to JJ Duling from 100.5 Louie FM in Louisville for sending me the info about that station's new on-air lineup (see, there are Variety Hits stations out there that have on-air jocks!) Here's how it looks:

5-10a Jackson In The Morning (JJ Jackson from WLCL/Atlanta)
10a-3p Traci Taylor (from Clear Channel/Cincinnati)
3-7p JJ Duling (from Big 100/Orlando)
7p-12a Rebecca Lake (from Total Traffic/Louisville)

Thanks to Colin Kelly, who tipped me off that in the UK Patent Database, SparkNet Communications (based out of Vancouver) applied for a trademark for the phrase "JACK FM" in the United Kingdom. The application was filed on 8/30/2005. It's listed under "Class 38: Broadcasting and telecommunications services; radio broadcasting services; audio streaming over the Internet; video streaming over the Internet." Here's the direct link to the listing.

Cleveland has a Variety Hits station now... but it's not the Cleveland you'd probably expect. 100000watts.com reports that 95 Rock (WRKG) in Cleveland, MS flipped from Classic Rock to Variety Hits on November 1, 2005, picking up the satellite fed Westwood One "SAM" format and rebranded as SAM 95.3.

It's not that I've been ignoring the website as of late -- there's just been nothing going on in the format lately. Wait until those Fall Phase 3 results start to come in, and perhaps we'll see some moves/changes with stations entering (or perhaps exiting) the format.
