At midnight today, Renda flipped newly acquired Urban/AC "Majic 107.1" WJJJ (licensed to Greensburg, PA but hitting part of the Pittsburgh market) to Variety Hits as SAM 107.1, with new call letters WGSM to come. The station is going to focus on the town of Greensburg, with its office of operation moving there from Pittsburgh. The format choice is curious, however, as the city of Greensburg falls within the city-grade radius of 96.9 Bob FM out of Pittsburgh.

93.1 WBVQ (which will be listed as Morgantown, WV for the purposes of this site) split today from its simulcast of 93.5 WBTQ (which both used to carry the ABC Hot AC satellite feed as "Hot 93") to become SAM 93.1 (WW1's satellite fed Variety Hits format.)

95.3 Jack FM in Chattanooga has new call letters WHJK, effective 2/2/2006.

AllAccess.com reports that AC WJFL (Magic 101) in Tennille, GA is preparing to flip to Variety Hits as "101.9 FM The Block." The station has named Jack Hammer the new PD; he is quoted as saying that the station will be like "JACK on steroids with DJs." The station has a Class A signal that sits east of Macon.
