WBUF - 92.9 Jack FM
On May 16, 2005, just six months following a switch from a rock & talk format to strictly FM Talk, 92.9 WBUF in Buffalo abruptly switched following the Howard Stern show from Hot Talk to Variety Hits as 92.9 Jack FM. For contractual reasons, the station retained Stern in morning drive through the end of his tenure with Infinity Broadcasting in December 2005.
In September 2006, Regent Communications bought WBUF, and the rest of the CBS Radio cluster in Buffalo, for $125 million.
