WBPE - 95.3 Bob FM
Lafayette, IN landed the Variety Hits format on December 6, 2007, with 95.3 WLFF dropping its "Wolf Country" format to become 95.3 Bob FM. The old Jack FM in Indianapolis (WJJK) was a distant rimshot at best to the area, but its shift to Classic Hits in 2006 negated any potential overlap problems there.
95.3 Bob FM changed call letters to WBPE on January 25, 2008.
The station was simulcast on 1410 WSHY, which gave added coverage to the southern part of the market; the simulcast splits at times when WSHY airs Purdue University sports broadcasts. The AM simulcast will end soon, with WSHY being sold and going with a talk format.
