The Jack FM Variety Hits format (hybrid of Classic Hits and Hot AC) made its European debut on Thursday, October 18, 2007, at 1:06 p.m. GMT when 106 Jack FM debuted in Oxford, Oxfordshire, England. Operated by Absolute Radio, 106 Jack FM broadcasts on a main frequency of 106.8 at 500 watts and on a repeater (106.4) at 250 watts.
The station features a morning show (or, at they call it in the UK, a breakfast show) hosted by Trevor Marshall, Sue Carter, and Greg Burke. Voiceover duties are handled by Paul Darrow (who speaks with a British accent), a departure from Howard Cogan, the American accented voice of the North American Jack FM stations (and a few others in the format.)
