WRRK - 96.9 Bob FM

Classic Rock 97RRK (WRRK) rebranded on January 5 2005, changing its name from Channel 97 to "97 RRK" but keeping its Classic Rock format.

As Variety Hits grew as a format in 2005, Pittsburgh was a market that, for whatever reason, did not have a station debut in the format. Infinity Broadcasting (now CBS Radio) had put Jack FM on in many major markets, but the company opted not to do so in Pittsburgh.

At midnight on November 1, 2005, WRRK flipped from Classic Rock to Variety Hits as Bob 96.9. The press release has details about the flip.

Despite rumors about an application for a call letter change to WBZB in early 2006, such a change never happened; CBS Radio ended up bringing similar call letters to the market in 2007 with WBZW-FM for the return of CHR on 93.7 as B93.7

In the summer of 2007, Steel City Media launched two HD side-channels on the station. The "Bob HD2" channel is known as "Bob's B-Sides", featuring a playlist of B-sides and lesser-known tracks from established artists, while the "Bob HD3" channel features unsigned/local bands.
