KTOZ-FM - Alice @ 95.5
Clear Channel's Alice @ 95.5 shifted from Modern AC to Variety Hits on April 1, 2005, which history may show was the day that proved to be a major tipping point for stations adopting the format across the country. Interestingly, Clear Channel kept the station's existing name with the format shift.
In November 2006, Clear Channel announced that it would be selling off stations that it owns in markets 101 and below. KTOZ-FM is the only station in the Variety Hits genre that the company owns in a sub-100 market. However, Clear Channel has not listed Springfield as a market where it plans to sell off its station cluster. For now, it appears that KTOZ-FM will remain within Clear Channel.
