A station that slowly transitioned from Classic Hits to Variety Hits is 94.3/92.5 The Fox (WFCX/WFDX) in Traverse City, MI (and points east.) 94.3 WFCX gives full city-grade coverage to Traverse City, while 92.5 WFDX covers parts east to Cheboygan, MI and all the way up to the edge of the Uppper Peninsula. The station is branded Northern Michigan's Greatest Hits and the station use a liner that says: "It doesn't have to be old to be a classic." The transition to Variety Hits began in March 2005, though the station maintains a Classic Hits listing in the trades for the purpose of national ad sales.
The station did quite well P25-54 in the Spring 2006 book, according to information that has been passed along to this site.
