KWKJ - 98.5 Mike FM
Known as J98.5, KWKJ had the unlikely pairing of a CHR format and Mancow in morning drive. The station flipped to Variety Hits on May 11, 2006, becoming 98.5 Mike FM. Much like Bob & Tom are an unusual fit for 103.9 Ted FM in Columbus, OH, Mancow stayed on in morning drive through the transition. A source from the station told me that Mancow grew up in nearly Warrensburg (and choosing whether to list KWKJ as Windsor or Warrensburg on this site took some contemplating) and started at the company's sister station, 1450 KOKO, so it made sense for them to retain Mancow because of the local conection.
