KGXL - 96.1 Bob FM

96.1 in Abilene (then KNCE) dropped Oldies on November 30, 2005, flipping to Variety Hits as 96.1 Bob FM.
In an interesting move, the station kept the Variety Hits format but rebranded itself as "XL 96" on September 1, 2007, changing its call letters to KGXL to reflect its new moniker.
Eleven months later, KGXL reverted to its previous name, once again becoming 96.1 Bob FM effective September 1, 2008. However, Bob's second incarnation in the market would be short-lived.
On March 24, 2009, KGXL dropped Variety Hits, as 96.1 Bob FM flipped to country as 96.1 the Wolf.
